STEP (The Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners) is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. and promote education and high professional standards among our members. STEP members help families plan for their futures, from drafting a Will to advising on issues concerning international families, protection of the vulnerable, family businesses and philanthropic giving. Full STEP members, known as TEPs, are internationally recognised as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.

Our Estate Planning Helpline team are renowned in the legal industry for their expertise in all aspects of estate planning, no matter how complex. So whether it’s a Will review, a full estate planning report, tax advice, lifetime and advanced estate planning solutions, or business succession, our team has the answers.

Our Probate Service

Our specialist Probate Team are on hand to guide you through what can be a very complex and lengthy process. especially at such a difficult time. The team are probate specialists and have both a sympathetic and patient approach when dealing with bereaved relatives. They will happily arrange a visit to discuss your requirements in the comfort of your own home.

Our Live Trust team undertake all work relating to a “live” Trust and hold and administer Trustee meetings, drafting all the relevant documents required by the Trustees and beneficiaries. Our Live Trust team are experts at advising beneficiaries on the most tax advantageous and protective strategies to receive their inheritance, whilst adhering to the wishes of the Settlor (the person who established the Trust).

Meetings are headed up by a member of our Estate Planning Team and can be conducted face to face at our offices in Kenilworth, a venue of your choice, or by Skype / Conference call. The Estate Planning Advisor can also be present at the meeting, if requested.

Our Trustee Service

A trustee is legally and morally bound to manage the trust property in a responsible and productive manner, and is under an absolute obligation to act solely for the benefit of the trust's beneficiaries.

Why use a professional Trustee?

There are risks to Trust assets where they are not distributed to the beneficiaries correctly i.e “absolute distributions” which includes the possibility of:

Disinheritance - Increased estate value for Inheritance Tax, therefore the entire inheritance being attackable by marriage after death, divorce, bankruptcy and care.

Four of our Directors are all TEPs (Trust & Estate Practitioners) and full members of S.T.E.P. along with two other members of staff with many staff being affiliate members and working towards this goal. Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation Ltd play an active part in encouraging staff to further their careers through professional qualifications and fully fund and support this.

We recruit qualified professionals such as Solicitors, Lawyers and Licensed Conveyancers and those with industry relevant qualifications. and actively fund and support staff development by their gaining more professional qualifications.

We have a network of Advisors throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This means we can draft your legal documents such as Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney etc. no matter where you reside in the UK.

We have 12 departments based at our office in Warwickshire who provide constant support and advice to our large network of Estate Planning Consultants and the quality of the advice provided by our Estate Planning helpline team to our Advisers is renown throughout the industry.

To ensure that our partners are kept abreast of changes both in the legal industry and legislation, we supply ongoing training through a variety of mediums including courses and Webinars, which are available to members and non members alike.

The Parliamentary Review

Recognised as a leading figure in the legal industry, Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation was invited to appear in the Law & Justice edition of the Parliamentary Review.

The Parliamentary Review is a series of independent publications, which aims to share best practice among policy makers and business leaders. The Review has separate editions based on key policy areas such as Finance, Technology, Healthcare etc. Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation Ltd features in the Parliamentary Review alongside the former Prime Minister Theresa May, Joe Egan, the Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond and a small number of outstanding organisations, showcasing our insights and best practice.

Our feature in the Law and Justice edition, consists of a review of the year in law with a number of contributing articles from leading experts within the legal profession. The Parliamentary Review has been sent out to tens of thousands leading policy makers.

The PM’s former cabinet colleague, Sir Eric Pickles, Chairman of the Review, said "it has never been more important for government to hear the views of business and the public sector in a constructive forum. It is also a vital time to share best practice and progress."
